About Me
I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, even before I could read words. I recall sitting at my mother’s electric typewriter when I was only four years old and typing feverishly. When I had finished, I proudly “read” to her my completed story about a T-rex devouring a stegosaurus. Obviously the jumbled letters on the page meant little to anyone else but me – but the thrill of enamoring my mother with a story of my own making never really left me. It became ingrained on my very soul.
Years later, I became an English teacher for Virginia public schools, where I could draw students in with my stories, and teach them to love writing and creating as much as I do. Teaching became my passion for fourteen years, but inevitably I felt that pull to write calling me.
So I said goodbye to my students while pursuing my MFA, but my desire to help others craft their own stories has become as much a part of my Self as writing has always been. I began my freelance business as a way to help other writers polish their work and make it publication or submission ready. My love of writing and reading plus the years I spent teaching writing and reading concepts, and editing various types of documents (both professional and academic), coupled with my degree from Old Dominion University and my upcoming MFA from Southern New Hampshire University, have prepared me for this culminating moment: I am your editor.
